  • June 2022: Sandra Müller is awarded a START prize. The START prize is one of the most recognized prizes for young scientists in Austria and includes prize money up to 1.2 million Euro.
  • October 2021: We are happy to announce that Jeffrey Bergfalk has been awarded the 2021 Mary Ellen Rudin Young Researcher Award, an annual award which “aims to celebrate Mary Ellen Rudin’s achievements and her legacy by encouraging the development of young talent in topology.” He receives the award for “his exceptional work on the interactions between algebraic topology and set theory.”

  • December 2020: Sandra Müller is awarded a L'Oreal Austria fellowship and Elise Richter fellowship.

  • July 2018: Vera Fischer wins this year's Prize of the Austrian Mathematical Society. It is awarded at the "Day of Mathematics" at the Faculty of Mathematics on November 9.

  • May 2018: Zoltán Vidnyánszky receives the 2018 Paul Turán award. The prize is awarded for Hungarian mathematicians under 40 for internationally recognized excellence in research related to Paul Turán's work and its applications. (Short note in Hungarian language.)
  • December 2017: Daniel Soukup receives the Grünwald Géza Prize from the Bolyai Society at the Rényi Institute. The prize is awarded since 1951 to Hungarian mathematicians under 30 for outstanding achievements in pure mathematics research.
  • September 2017: Ben Miller is promoted to full professor.
  • July 2017: Carolin Antos is granted a project by the 'Freigeist' Fellowship program of the Volkswagen Foundation.

  • June 2017: Diana Montoya successfully defends her PhD thesis.
